TRAINING SCHEDULE

 TESTING INFORMATION 

4th Kyu

To achieve 4th Kyu, a student must perform appropriate Kihon, Heian Shodan, Heian Nidan, Heian Sandan, Hein Yondan and Heian Godan (for students 12+).

  1. Step forward with your left leg and make a low block with your left arm.
    (Hidari Gedan Berai)

     

  2. Step forward and punch with your front arm, then reverse punch with the other. Repeat 3 times
    (Oi Zuki, Gyaku Zuki, Zenkutsu Dachi)

     

  3. Step back high block with the front arm, back fist with the same arm, reverse punch. Repeat 3 times
    (Age Uke, Uraken Uchi, Gyaku Zuki, Zenkutsu Dachi)

     

  4. Step forward inside block with the front arm, jab punch with the same arm, reverse punch.  Repeat 3 times
    (Soto Uke, Kizami Zuki, Gyaku Zuki, Zenkutsu Dachi)

     

  5. Step back knife hand block, back leg front kick return to back and front stance, spear hand with back arm finish in a front stance. Repeat 3 times
    (Shuto Uke, Gohan Nukite, Zenkutsu Dachi)

     

  6. Fighting stance
    (Kamae)

     

  7. Front leg front kick and place back down. Front leg round kick and place back down. Back leg front kick and step forward.
    (Kizami Mae Geri, Kizami Mawashi Geri, Mae Geri)

     

  8. Front leg round kick and place back down. Front leg front kick and place back down. Back leg round kick and step forward.
    (Kizami Mawashi Geri, Kizami Mae Geri, Mawashi Geri)

     

  9. Front leg front kick and place back down. Front leg round kick and place back down. Back leg front kick and step forward.
    (Kizami Mae Geri, Kizami Mawashi Geri, Mae Geri)

     

  10. Turn
    (Mawate)

     

  11. Front leg round kick and place back down. Front leg front kick and place back down. Back leg round kick and step forward.
    (Kizami Mawashi Geri, Kizami Mae Geri, Mawashi Geri)
     

  12. Front leg front kick and place back down. Front leg round kick and place back down. Back leg front kick and step forward.
    (Kizami Mae Geri, Kizami Mawashi Geri, Mae Geri)
     

  13. Front leg round kick and place back down. Front leg front kick and place back down. Back leg round kick and step forward.

  14. (Kizami Mawashi Geri, Kizami Mae Geri, Mawashi Geri)
     

  15. Turn
    (Mawate)

     

  16. Front leg front kick and place down. Front leg round kick then place down. Back leg lunge side kick moving forward and step forward.

  17. Front leg round kick and place down. Front leg front kick then place down. Back leg lunge side kick moving forward and step forward.

  18. Front leg front kick and place down. Front leg round kick then place down. Back leg lunge side kick moving forward and step forward.
